Rooted in Heritage, Crafted for Today
Sri Lanka — known for centuries as Ceylon — is an island where the earth gives generously. From the emerald paddy fields to the lush spice gardens, from ancient tea estates to sun-drenched coastal markets, nature and tradition live side by side. This is the land that inspires Kethara.
Kethara was born from a deep desire to preserve that heritage and share it with the world. Every grain of cinnamon, every leaf of tea, every seed of cardamom carries the memory of a thousand harvests — and the care of the hands that nurture them.
We believe that true luxury is not created in factories. It grows in soil, it flows through tradition, and it is refined through patience, respect, and authenticity.
The Journey
Our journey began with a simple idea: that the beauty and richness of Sri Lanka’s natural bounty deserved to be experienced as they are — pure, elegant, and honest.
We travelled across the island — through misty highlands, sleepy spice villages, and sunlit coastal farms — seeking the finest ingredients grown by people who still work with the rhythm of nature.
What we found was more than just products. We found a living heritage — a connection between land, people, and tradition that could not be replaced by modern shortcuts.
Kethara was created to honour that connection.
A Name with a Story
Even our name carries the soul of what we stand for.
Keth — the Sinhala word for paddy field or farmland — reflects our bond with the earth and the life it sustains.
Ara — meaning ancestral ways or habits — speaks to the wisdom, rituals, and values passed down through generations.
Together, Kethara is a quiet tribute to the land and its heritage — a reminder that our story begins not in a boardroom, but in the soil of Sri Lanka.
A Bridge Between Past and Present
Today, Kethara stands as a bridge — between heritage and modernity, between rural hands and urban homes, between the heart of Ceylon and the world beyond.
We present our spices, teas, and coffees with elegance — but we never forget the roots. Every product we share is crafted with integrity, sustainability, and love for the island that made it possible.
